Inclusive, Warm and Authentic
My practice is based in Nottingham but I am able to offer remote work for people located around the UK. I have previously worked as a counsellor for Nottingham Women’s Centre and a Domestic Abuse charity and until recently was running a busy trans-inclusive women’s counselling service. I trained for 4 years in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy with the Sherwood Institute and am continuously developing my learning to benefit my work with clients.
My work is underpinned by principles around:
- Social justice
- Queer theory
- Feminist ethics
I am also influenced by Eastern philosophies and practices such as Buddhism and meditation. In my practice I utilise a number of approaches to best suit the person I am working with, although the foundation of all my work lies in the person-centred values of empathy, positive regard and non-judgment. To be at my best I prioritise self care outside of my working hours. To that end, in my down time I enjoy dog walking, working out, playing games, DnD, reading and live music among other interests. I also spend some time outside the therapy room supporting the creative industry in Nottingham, being involved in events year round.

Therapy With You (What's It Like?)
In my practice I utilise a number of approaches to best suit the person I am working with, although the foundation of all my work lies in the person-centred values of empathy, positive regard and non-judgment. As well as person-centred and experiential approaches, I draw from a number of different therapy modalities including elements of DBT, SFBT, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic concepts, somatic trauma based therapies, narrative and written exposure therapy, attachment and systemic therapies and an up to date knowledge of neuroscience and psychiatric research.
Professional Memberships
I am a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), registered member of the British Associate for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a graduate member of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham. I am therefore bound by their codes of ethics in all my work which is supervised by an experienced clinical supervisor. I do not and will not engage in any form of therapy under the umbrella of conversion or exploratory therapies.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from a session?
I currently work with adults, couples and young people. Individual sessions last for 50 minutes and can be in person, online or by telephone
Couples work is usually 60 minutes and is in person.
Our work together can be short, medium or long-term depending on your needs. The majority of my work with clients is long term in nature, exploring issues at depth and looking at various points in a person’s history to make connections and promote change in their present day life. Similarly, my work with couples is also long term in nature, looking at entrenched patterns and relational dynamics to support growth for both parties and a more harmonious relationship for the future.
How do I book a consultation?
If you’re not sure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free 10 minute phone conversation to discuss your needs and to see if we might work together.
