Warm and Genuine Environment
I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist working with clients in-person in Nottingham. I trained primarily in the person-centred approach, but I also have experience in existential and psychoanalytic approaches. The person-centred approach aligns with my values, particularly:
- Prioritising client autonomy and self-direction.
- Recognising the therapeutic relationship as one of the most effective predictors of change and growth.
- Focusing on how the client’s environment supports their growth through non-judgment, empathy, and authentic connection.
My work as a therapist has been shaped by philosophy, teaching, and communication through design. I hold an MA in Philosophy, with particular research interests in the application of philosophy in education and ethical approaches to bias. I worked as a peripatetic philosophy teacher during and after my postgraduate studies. Following this, I explored communication through graphic and other design work. My training in psychotherapy has allowed me to bring together my interests in philosophy, communication, and education in a way that directly impacts people’s lives.

Therapy With You (What's It Like?)
Psychotherapy offers a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore life’s difficulties at depth. Through open-ended dialogue, therapist and client co-create meaning, understanding, and acceptance of the client’s lived experiences.
I see psychotherapy as process work rather than a treatment that offers fixed solutions. I take a principally non-directive, non-expert stance, as I believe that:
- You have privileged access to your own inner experiences
- You are the expert in your personal history and the challenges you face
In my work, I also acknowledge that, despite our unique experiences, we all encounter existential certainties, including:
- Freedom and responsibility
- Isolation and aloneness
- Death
- Meaning and meaninglessness
- Suffering
I continuously reflect on how to create spaces for change and take a critical approach to psychotherapy. This includes examining how therapy itself can:
- Ignore or reinforce systemic and ideological oppression
- Place blame on the individual rather than the structures causing distress
- Promote productivity as a goal rather than well-being (e.g., in a capitalist framework)
As such, I strive to:
- Horizontalize power dynamics where possible
- Acknowledge the social and political context of clients’ struggles
- Collaborate to deconstruct internalized oppression
These values are rooted in feminist and social justice perspectives.
Professional Memberships
I am a full clinical member of the UKCP, a registered member of the BACP, and a graduate member of SPTI, where I trained. I adhere to their ethical frameworks, and my work is supervised in accordance with their guidelines.
I strongly oppose recent government, institutional (including, unfortunately, within the UKCP), and systemic anti-trans movements in the UK and globally. I do not and will not engage in any form of conversion or exploratory therapies.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I pay for my sessions?
You should pay ahead of every session.
Is everything in therapy confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in therapy is kept private, with some exceptions, such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others.
What can I expect from my consultation call?
Your consultation call is an opportunity to get to know your chosen therapist and see if they feel like the right fit for you. During the call, you can share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you might have, and learn more about the therapist’s approach. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation designed to help you feel comfortable and informed before deciding to move forward.
